Kiss Me Dirty Race!

What did I do this weekend??? Oh thats right I ran a 5k mud run! Seriously one of the most fun things I have ever done!!!!

1st day of School! 1st grade edition

Duncan started school last Wed the 15th! Not just school but 1st grade... all day school... lunch at school and everything! He was so excited and has been looking forward to this for a while, so was I. What would it be like to just have one kiddo at home, you see last year I was working and didnt get to take him to school or pick him up, Daddy stayed at home with Beckham and got to do all those fun things (and the kids loved it!) This year ts all up to me, I am staying home this year and Chris is working full time and 15 units! So here I was watching Duncan pick out his clothes and Beckham doing his best at picking his out, and getting everything ready to go, Duncan is excited and Beckham really has no idea that he is going to be all by himself with no best buddy! Duncan wanted me to pack his lunch and I gladly did! We drove to the school and We walked him in to his class and he was gone, he didnt give hugs he was ready, I told him I loved him and I would see him after school and he says, "yeah mom, bye!" I am not going to lie I cried, alot!! Not in front of him though, he came home so excited and he loved it. I knew he would he loves to be around people and meet new friends!

Now that today is day 4 of school I am loving the time I get to spend with Beckham and loving that Duncan is doing so good and loving school!

I have a 6 year old!

We had two celebrations for Duncan this year! One was on Sunday where we had family and friends over. As per tradition I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner and what kind of cake he wanted, he quickly responded by saying," Homemade pizza, Pizza factory bread sticks and for dessert I want Beignets!" I thought holy cow at least he knows what he wants! We have church at 11:30 here and Chris had to be at work at 5 so everyone was coming over at 3... and I had to make 3 different doughs... I was in a serious time crunch! Lucky for me Carol was in town and helped me out, then my mom came and also helped me out! It all turned out amazing and was delicious! I am so glad that he chose those things!
The second celebration was his actual birthday on Tuesday, we had lunch and generally played all day! It was a great day, (minus the hour I had to go to the dentist to take care of a chipped tooth!) followed by going to Nana's house and opening presents and playing baseball out in her back yard! I am a little overwhelmed by the thought that Duncan is 6 and is starting 1st grade in 4 days! He is such a good big brother and a big helper to me! He really brings such a special spirit to our home!!

Beckham is 3!!

 My little boy is 3! I cant believe it, it has gone by so fast! He is one of the funniest kids Ive ever been around! He LOVES Luigi so I was on the hunt for a month for a Luigi figurine! I finally found one 2 days before his birthday and he was so exited! I also made him a Luigi cape so he can fly around with Luigi!

 We went to see Madagascar 3 and grabbed some lunch then just hung out all day, unfortunately it was an inside play day because of the rain but that is ok!

 We sang Happy Birthday and as soon as he blew out the candle...

 He went in and took a bite!!! I think he was looking forward to it all day!!

 I made his favorite... Fair style Corn dogs! He was in Heaven!!

He is such a big boy now... but not to big to snuggle with his mommy every once in a while!!

Family Pictures 2012

I had the LUCKY opportunity to have one of my friends from Highschool offer to take our Family pictures, As we have only had done once before I was super excited and knew she would do an awesome job, Boy did she deliver!!! We went out to a small town about 15 min away to a little brick barn and she took amazing pictures of the boys and Chris and I! We were out there for about an hour and she is so good I got them back the same day!!!!

I love them and am so happy that she was willing to take our pictures!! Thank You Jessica!!!

lots of thoughts!

Since Last summer I have tried to lose some weight that I gained since I had both my kids, I lost most of my weight that I gained with Duncan (considering it was mostly water since I had Pre-eclampsia) but when I got pregnant with Beckham I had only gained 11 pounds, I lost a lot when I had him and was nursing but the second I stopped nursing I gained a lot of weight! So I kinda got down and let it go and so when both my sister and brother in law got engaged I started to adjust my eating habits and tried to do a little more. I lost a good amount and have continued to lose weight. I should say I feel like I have, I have not actually weighed myself since then I try to just go off of my pant size and I will openly say that I was in a tight 12, I am now in a size 8 comfortably. I would like to be down at a 6 but we will see. Anyways Chris has started training for the Ironman... I Am in no way wanting to go and do that but I would love to do a 5k to start! So here starts my journey into running a few of my friends from high school and my sister has gotten into running and has really inspired me! Here goes nothing!!!

What have we been up to?

Well a whole lot! I don't know why I am always finding myself not updating for months at a time but here we are again... I always have the best of intentions every time I blog thinking OK now I updated now I need to be consistent update at least once a week, alas I always let it slide or I feel like eh not much happened and nobody really reads it anyways, so I am teaching a lesson on personal record keeping and I suppose I should be leading by example right?
Well since spring break (holy cow) Chris started a new job which has enabled me to be able to stay home!! I can hear the angels singing! That's right folks as of yesterday at 1:30 I am now a stay at home mom! (Bring on more babies!!)
Duncan finished out Kindergarten and did amazing, his teacher told us that he was the top of the class for math (must take after his dad!) and for reading, which is amazing cause when he started out this year we thought he was going to have to go to all day kindergarten!
Beckham had started to potty train and then started in this phase where he wants to be a baby all over again! So that has been put on the back burner until now that I am home all the time! He also has had a bout of Croup, not fun but we are on our way done with it now!
As for me I am having a blast with the Young Women, and my kiddos! I had an amazing opportunity to volunteer for the Ironman St George! It was awesome, I woke up really early and helped at Bike Aide Station 1. We got to see all the participants fly by on there bikes and hand out whatever help they needed. They are all truly inspiring to be able to push there bodies and minds that far! It has really inspired me, (and Chris who is now training for the half Ironman next year!) I am hoping to volunteer next year at the start so I can see him start and then at the finish line to catch him! Also with the Young Women they had a Youth Spectacular that I was not really excited for to be honest it was a lot of time that I was away from the kids but when it was time to perform it turned out amazing and I was so happy to be apart of it. You could truly feel the spirit there! Hopefully now that I am home more I can update more! Now here are a few pictures of the last few months!

Potty Training round 2

I remember quite well how much I HATED potty training Duncan... It was one VERY VERY hard week followed by one phone call from my sister to tell him he needed to go on the potty for reasons that are kind gross but it worked! This time around with Beckham... has been 3 weeks of highs and lows. The first week he did awesome I thought alright easy peasy! this is great super easy! I WAS WRONG!!!!
Beckham has no desire what so ever and I try all the same things I did with Duncan and it will work for a day them I have to find something else, until two days ago I just got tired and gave up, he won. I dont want him to feel like this is horrible thing and fight with him all day on it, so I am going to give him a little more time.
I am going to take my time, maybe when I am home during the summer and I can let him sit on the potty all day long. Just needed to vent and put it out there, please I am open for suggestions, My "full proof" ideas are not very full proof after all!!!

In Honor Of Easter

In honor of Easter, I am posting this video. I am so grateful for our Savior and for all the many things he did that no one else could. I Believe in him and all that he did for everyone of us. So on this Easter remember him and take some time to remember the true meaning of Easter.

Spring Break 2012 Picture overload!!!

So for spring break we went to Disneyland and Newport Beach! We had so much fun this trip! About a month before I decided I wanted to make matching shirts for everyone, I loved the way they turned out! We got to see lots of Characters and eat lots of yummy food! We also got to see my sister and her family, We got to go to Newport and go to Balboa Island and rented a Surry! That was way fun and I am pretty sure we worked off all that yummy food we ate!
